Job Summary:

The Rotorcraft AMT is a critical role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of maintenance, preventative maintenance, rebuilding, and alterations on rotorcraft, adhering strictly to FAA regulations (14 CFR Parts 27, 29, 43, 91, 133, 135, and 145 as applicable). This position demands a safety-first focus, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining product and service quality. Youll be instrumental in interpreting technical data, performing skilled maintenance, completing thorough documentation, and potentially mentoring other technicians, all while supporting the Director of Maintenance.

Essential Duties / Accountabilities:

  • Safety First Focus: Prioritize safety in all maintenance tasks to ensure rotorcraft are in a condition for safe operation.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate thoroughness and accuracy for early identification and correction of defects/problems, reducing waste, rework, and potential liabilities.
  • Product/Service Quality: Maintain consistent quality and safety standards to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Ability to read and interpret Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Alert Service Bulletins (ASBs), Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICAs), and other approved/acceptable data.
  • Possess practical experience with procedures, practices, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment used in constructing, maintaining, or altering airframes or powerplants, appropriate to the rating. (Familiarity with Track and Balance equipment desired).
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Maintain clear and timely verbal and written communication with colleagues and management to report defects, collaborate effectively, and prevent maintenance delays or AOG situations.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed thoroughly, including parts removed/replaced, precision measuring equipment, test apparatuses used, and expiration/calibration dates.
  • Ability to complete tasks within allotted timeframes and to FAA (or equivalent) and company standards.
  • May require independent work and minimal guidance from management staff.

Additional Functions:

  • Accept Lead responsibilities when needed, overseeing projects and delegating tasks to assigned technicians in coordination with the Lead.
  • Conduct and assist team members in performing safety audits.
  • Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs.
  • Comply with and champion Safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, and ensure the protection of aircraft interiors (PTP).
  • Mentor and train lesser skilled technicians, monitoring their work to ensure tasks are completed in accordance with required levels of safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with Leads and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements to reduce material cost, cycle time, and labor hours using Lean Six-Sigma tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3 years of concurrent practical experience with both airframe and powerplant ratings OR 7 years of concurrent practical experience OR 4 years of concurrent Military equivalent experience performing duties appropriate for Bell or Airbus helicopters.
      • Consideration for substitution of related education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform essential functions may be made upon written request to the RSG Director of Maintenance (DOM).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

  • A Professional Work Ethic is Mandatory.
  • Must hold a currently effective mechanic certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with both Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) ratings.
  • Minimum three (3), seven (7) preferred, years of experience applying principles, practices, and standards associated with all levels of aircraft maintenance, repair, and alteration (Civilian rotorcraft preferred).
  • Must have a working knowledge of drawings, specifications, blueprints, or other technical data appropriate to both airframe and powerplant ratings.
  • Ability to comprehend and process information accurately and timely.
  • Availability: Must be flexible to support changing operational needs, including being available at earlier or later times, and able to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Occasional travel will be required; may be required to obtain a passport and a visa.
  • Basic computer experience.

  • Must have manual dexterity, physical strength, and be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
